NTU “KhPI” held a cycle of live broadcasts “Job Fair. Polytech-2020 “. During five days (30.11–4.12.2020), university students and everyone interested could get acquainted online with the leading employers of the Kharkiv region and partners of the KhPI. Representatives of twenty companies and enterprises told about their activities, employment of students and graduates, career perspectives, requirements for applicants, and gave advices on writing a resume. The broadcasts took place on the pages of the university in Facebook and Instagram.
Live broadcasts of the Job Fair “Polytech-2020” started with a meeting with the Deputy Director of the Kharkiv Regional Employment Center Anatoly Tolstykh and the rector of NTU “KhPI”, Professor Yevgen Sokol. They told about the situation and trends in the labor market in Kharkov, the importance of choosing the right specialty for study and, as a result, the future profession. So, according to the representative of the Kharkiv Regional Employment Center Anatoly Tolstykh, today the most demanded professions are IT, marketing, engineering, and also pharmacy. In his turn, the rector of KhPI, Professor Yevgen Sokol noted that the main condition for building a successful career is the correct choice of profession, and the university pays due attention to this. Kharkiv Polytech conducts career guidance activities – Job Fair and Open Day. The first is directed to help students and graduates in work or practice finding, and the second is for schoolchildren to help them to choose a direction of study. In general, for five days of online broadcasts, viewers were able to get acquainted with the activities of companies, enterprises, factories and other institutions that work in various sectors of the Ukrainian economy. Their representatives told about their organizations and cooperation with KhPI, about the opportunities for internship, employment of students and graduates, requirements for applicants, as well as about the resources that are available to employees, including at the initial stage of work. In addition, employers gave advices on resume writing and job search. Many speakers focused on the fact that a higher education diploma is an important part for building a successful career, as well as on the need to know foreign languages and strive for continuous development.
